I ran into a former member of Oxygen, and then a hostage of Extreme.

He told me that he walked out -- and never went bacl -- when he spotted all these ''fibers'' in the air after another demolition. he thought it was asbestos.

I doubt it was, although I must say that, because the location used to be an cinema back in the day, who knows how they fireproofed it?

Read the contract and see under what conditions they can revoke membership.

On my old Oxygen contract, it says members should not be ''a nuisance'' -- which is pretty vague. But it seems as if to them, you were.

I don't think there is anything you can do.

Please contact the local legal clinic. Although you may have been a nuisance them to, in their opinion, if you were not on their property, I doubt they have a legal leg to stand on!

Don't give up. I think this is getting to the Silverman Helps level now, what do you think?

The local legal clinic for the Danforth area is Flemingdon Legal Services. The are located at 49 The Donway, W, Toronto. 416-441-0969

That is, if you don't have your legal council already. They can direct you to Lawyer Referral Service, where you can get legal council. This service may be free of charge, depending upon the circumstances.

If anyone speaks with legal council, please either post, or contact the Admin(s).

well i thought i was just exersizing my rights as a citizen to protest and i wasnt on their property . i found them to be very intimidating as they walked up to the corner to approach me and then some of them followed me down the street. i dont think they even read the sign i was carrying . they are so guilty that they just knew right away what it was.

they promised us to be finished by dec. 1st that is what
made me angry so angry on that day. i wanted to exersize that day but i have asthma and there is a lot of white dust in there yu can actually see it in the air. it is insane to exersize in those conditions . havent the people who are still going there got any sense ?? i just dont understand it. are we such doormats that we will risk our health to stay within the status qou?

I think you might reach more former members who left in disgust at other neighbourhood gyms.

Who knew that going to the gym could actually kill you? Not only did I find it disgustingly smelly in there last night (December 4th), I could feel my lungs closing up. The smell of burning plastic lingered in the air from all the welding taking place (around 5pm). I tolerated the moving of the equipment, no hot water, the disappearance of equipment, the cold temps in there, broken water fountains... but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
