Oxygen Fitness had a number keypad at the front desk. Instead of carrying around a plastic card, members simply typed in their membership number, their profile came up on the computer screen, and in they went. One didn't have to carry around a card that you could lose, or even bring your wallet if you didn't want to. If you dropped by unplanned, you didn't need to go home and find your card. You just went. We lost this convenience pretty quickly.

The number keypad was a far superior system, and another indication of the inflexibility of this new company. Instead of making us all change to something we don't want, why wouldn't they just adopt the better system?
