It seems Extreme Fitness is playing musical chairs on a weekly basis, removing a lot of old Oxygen Fitness equipment that works just fine, some of which will never be replaced. I don't find that acceptable and think we should be consulted about what equipment is going, and what is being replaced? We should also consider requesting compensation for the lack of equipment and now the lack of space.

So much equipment is gone now, they have just basic weights mainly, which I have at home, why should I pay to go there? What a waste of money!

I asked them why they keep taking equipment away, when people use it, and want it. The management said there we can use other equipment, that some would be replaced, but they don't listen to their clients and what they want. They obviously don't care. It's very corporate. I want money back!

Some days I have gone into the gym and it seems like too much effort to find the equipment that I need, so I leave. The whole main floor could have been left alone until the renovations are done. A lot of people just use the main floor and are familiar with the set up of the equipment. Hiring some people to sit at the front desk to reorient members after each change would be a really good way to make members happy, and not give the impression that Extreme Fitness really only cares about making money. A lot of people that were Oxygen members liked the laid back, uncommercial feel of the gym. Ever since it changed to Extreme, it's been swarms of red and black uniformed employees and not any formal (that I can remember) introduction to the new owners.

I spoke with management there. and I overheard them talking with someone else with the problem about them taking good equipment away that people were using. The word being bandied about seems to be "redundant". The equipment was redundant, and therefore not needed, because it took up space. space that they could put more members into. Well, if the equipment I have been using for 7 years is redundant, so is my membership. Well, sorry folks, cause they will fill up my empty space with 3 more new members when I don't renew with them.

The real reason they got rid of all that great equipment on the main floor was not redundancy, although that was the "official" excuse, but TO FIT IN MORE MEMBERS!!! That's right folks, get rid of equipment, fill it up with more people, make more profits. bottom line with this creepy company. it's all about money. too bad customer service, and equipment were the casualties, well, so was the nice atmosphere that used to exist there, now just kinda bad energy there. no wonder, it's frustrating fighting for the remainingequipment.

They just keep moving equipment, and there is no safe place to walk anymore, because it's not well thought out, YOu try to walk around something or someone doing exercise, and get hit in the chest by someone working an extension machine that wasn't looking. That place is dangerous sometimes. Evertime they move something (in order to confuse us, hoping we won't realize something new is missing I think), it becomes hazardous in there to move around again.

Honestly, they way they have lined all those cardio machines on that upper stage, I think it's a fire hazard!

I think, and this is my personal opinion, that the worst thing the new company did was overcrowd the place, but that just amplified the second worse thing they did, which was remove equipment.

It seems to me that they got rid of stuff that was either a duplicate of a machine, or one very similar to another. But having two of the same piece of equipment is what makes a good gym, especially when it gets crowded. And we have just heard that Extreme bought out Jump Fitness and forced all those members into our club! So it's crowded, a LOT!
