| Shortly after Extreme Fitness took over, someone was actively deleting the paid in full part of many Oxygen Fitness members. I was one of them. It took more than 3 months to clear up. Basically, they said that they lost the original contracts. However, they took over Oxygen computers, and we all were in those computers. Instead they deleted our paid in full part, and left it UP TO US TO PROVE WE HAD PAID! If I had lost my contract, I would have lost my membership -- and I had paid for a year! I heard that some members lost their entire year this way, because they couldn't find their original contract. A friend of mine was unable to find his contract, but was able to reprint his Visa bill. Instead of giving him the 15 months that he paid for (that was the special deal by Oxygen at the time he renewed -- and yes, Extreme knew of this promotion) they only gave him a year. So they ripped him off for 3 months. I went in with my 15 month contract to complain a few times on his behalf, and he complained, and eventually he got his extra 3 months back, but many did not. They would not honour the word of the client, even though they could easily look up when a member paid, to see that (s)he paid when the 15 month promotion was on. They were hunting for ways to delete people, hunting for ways to rip them off, essentially. I just don't think that was legal. I for one was considering a class-action lawsuit. They are very lucky if they didn't face one, that is all I can say. I approached the manager numerous times, and asked him if they hunted down and reprimanded the person guilty of deleting account information. They clearly had no intention of doing so. That speaks volumes about the integrity of an organization. |
