Numerous members have called for a petition to present to the CEO of Extreme Fitness, and to their American owners, Falconhead Capital. We can also get this petition out to the general public through the media.

This forum will be an excellent means to formulate the subject, the goal, and the wording of the petition. But we will also need a physical means of gathering names and signatures. Perhaps we can leave a petition at a local community center. We need ideas and input on this.

We need someone to formulate the petition. So here is a call to all members to give their ideas on the petition. What will it say? Who will it be presented to? Where will it be available to sign? Should we do it online? Should it accompany a (legal) demonstration outside the club?

One idea that keeps being repeated over and over again by members is the notion that many of us would be satisfied if we just got our money back (or a reasonable amount of it). So we would suggest that we petition for refunds. Any other business in the city would give a refund to a dissatisfied customer. These people have us almost as hostages by hanging on to our money, and only offering extended memberships, which most of us do not want. We want out, and we want a refund.

Let's hear your ideas!

http://www.petitiononline.com/

That's one thing.

The second is, I think too many members would be afraid to put their names to this because they worry about intimidation tactics at the gym. Not that I have experienced any. But i wouldn't want to.
