Hmmm, all the main stage equipment, where the juicebar USED to be. The biggest casualty from there seems to be the.. um.. pecdeck I think it was called.
Then on the main floor, there is all that hammer strenght stuff I used, basically all the time. There were two together where thefront desk is now, one you sit on, with your arms at your side, then pushed the handles down. Another you sit with your arms on a raised bench and pushed the handles away from your head.
There were two situp/inclined benches. One just recently disappeared.
I just noticed more things missing this week (20Aug), the machines where you stand up, then raise your legs up _| , whatever that was called, I don't remember the names of all this equipment, even though i used them every week, gone. And I just noticed the universal stretching machine, that used to be just below the cycling class room, you know, what used to be our stretching area, is just completely GONE. I guess they needed to fit more members into that space, instead of equipment.
I used to use the hammerstrength dead weight lift weekly, but that is gone as well. That's been gone for monthsm so no hopes for that to return any time soon. Along with the declined bench, where you pull weights up toward you.
Well, it seems in a way that you now have only 2 options at this gym, to jog (or step), or use a benchpress (with weights). All that wonderful variety that Oxygen had is GONE. with no word of what is returnign or when. Thanks Extreme for ruining my workout routines! and no word of compensation for all of us either. |

The arm extension machine, with the raised bench, (where you push forward and down against weight) is still there, by the "temporary entrance." The dead lift is also still around, albeit under the stairs and unusable.
I noticed that the ab crunch bench, with weights, is missing. |

My favourite leg curl machine, a sitting one, that you had to put plates on.
My favourite leg press, a horizontal one, that required no plates.
The two Concept II Rowers -- that really pisses me off.
All the space on the mezzanine where I would set up a stepper, a mat, a ball and dumbbells for my own mini-boot camp. |

There were two "dipping" machines (some posters might have referred to these already--I have a weird name for them). Y'know the massive machine where you could do dips, chin-ups and pull-ups on a moving ledge? And a smaller dipping machine...
And what's the deal with the disappearing dumbbells and benches? I had to wait one month before I could finally use the one and only adjustable bench, and then ta-dah! No dumbbells (except for the steroid-heavy ones). Yay! |

| If you know ANYTHING about working out then you know that stretching is vital. I got so pissed when they just removed the universal stretching machine and that area. Obviously the gym doesn't care about your well being, if they just remove facets for stretching. |

mine was the old elipticals... the precore ones. I hate the new ones and feel like they don't have as many options and settings. I also need to wait forever to get on one of them if I go to the gym saturday or sunday any time other than when it first opens.
I miss the free weight section that used to be on the north side which has moved up and is hogged by trainers. i miss the hammer strength equipment. i miss being able to work in with a trainer and not work out, fearing someone is going to talk to me and try to sell me stuff... and i miss not being intimidated.
what a mess this place has become

| Welcome to the forum karinaf. This seems to be the most common complaint right now, that the trainers are like vultures. Don't they pay them a salary? It's really annoying. The second biggest complaint seems to be with the "new" equipment, which is mostly Life Fitness. People don't like it as much as the older equipment. It looks pretty, but I have to agree, the place is a mess (compared to pre-Extreme takeover). |
