The men's sauna is just really a postage-stamp, sample-sized sauna. It's there in name sake only. In my opinion it will fit 4 people, maximum! And that is with one person standing! It has a bench that fits 3 people really close together -- uncomfortably close. And it is a dry sauna. Most people complain that it is not hot enough, and people are always putting water on the coils -- not a good idea btw.
The lighting is ridiculous! They must have a couple of 500 W lights in there, so that you feel like you're in a tanning room, or a movie shoot.
Well, imho, they just put that teeny little sauna there for name's sake; just so they can say they have one. It certainly is not very functional.
To contrast with what was there before Extreme "improved" the gym, Oxygen Fitness had a decent-sized steam sauna, on the ground floor, that could seat at least 6 to 10 people. I've seen more in there. And it was used all the time! This new "sauna" is usually empty. No wonder. It's virtually useless.
If a sauna is important to you in a gym, I would suggest looking elsewhere! |
