|

To start, I have never been a member of Extreme Fitness. The comments on this site are about my experiences with GoodLife fitness.
I have been a member of GoodLife for six years now. Having been a member of other fitness clubs, I feel GoodLife has been the best investment for me.
What I like:
1. Equipment is regularly upgraded and receives quick attention if there are any issues
2. Staff - always friendly and eager to please. Also, you are treated as a MEMBER and not as a guest.
3. Convenience - you can use any GoodLife gym. This is good for people like me with have family all over Ontario and who's work takes me to various places. I love being able to make use of all the GoodLife facilities.
4. If you don't like one GoodLife facility, there's a 90% chance there is another one in close proximity that you can make use of instead.
5. If you take, or would like to take, any classes, they have the best. They also are constantly upgrading classes and adding them based on member feedback.
Now - the typical problems associated with most good gyms:
1. It can be very busy at times - especially from 6 to 8 p.m. However, a successful gym is likely to reinvest its success into the gym (i know GoodLife does) |

I have been to a number of Goodlife (GL) locations, even during rushhour, and find that I can always get the equipment I want quickly, or easily share the equipment. Extreme Fitness (EF) really packs the place, to uncomfortable levels, esp at rushhour!
Also, at EF, there seem to be a lot of musclheads (wt), that don't like to share, and are not particularly friendly . I have not found this at any location of Goodlife, so in general I would say the clientele at GL is superior.
(btw, I don't work for GL, I just think they are a superior company, by far, just being honest. )
While I am being honest, I also found EF Danforth esp, to be rather homophobic. No wonder, it looked like the majority of gay men going there did not renew their memberships, and I see a lot of them at Goodlife. There is one GL in particular which has a high gay clientele, and it is very comfortable for everyone there. It seems only good business practice, considering the power of the gay dollar and all (think DINKs ).
And I have yet to see a mullet at a Goodlife location! Although a bunch of them appeared at EF Danforth, shortly after they took over from Oxygen fitness.
Yaaa, Goodlife! |

| I have one suggestion for goodlife... bleach your showers! One location in particular smells even at the door to the changeroom! |
